Job Summary:  The RN in our clinic is an expert in various skin conditions and procedures.  The RN works closely with the provider on assisting patients with managing their dermatological concerns by providing education, assisting with procedures (including skin cancer treatments), conducting follow up calls, performing wound dressing changes and any other duties as delegated by the provider.

Job Duties and Functions:

  • Assists the providers with performing various tasks including skin exams, recording of medical history and medications, assisting with procedures, and any other tasks delegated by the provider.
  • Providing the patients with concise and clear pre and post procedural instructions.
  • Is able to confidently dress and care for skin wounds of varying severity, perform complex suture removals, assess infections, or any other relevant tasks as directed by the provider.
  • Works with the site manager and the clinical team leads to ensure smooth flow of the clinical area.
  • Works collaboratively with clinical team leads across the organization on developing practices that optimize workflows and provides suggestions on process improvement initiatives.
  • Assists with the development of educational materials and internal publications as needed for patients and other staff members.
  • Works with the clinical manager on developing group educational sessions for the clinical staff on various topics of relevance. This could be due to a new product or procedure, the identifying of a training need, or a process improvement change.


  • Must possess a current RN or BSN license with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical setting.
  • Must obtain Derm Tech certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of medical terminology, ICD10 codes, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Must be comfortable and skilled in using various computer programs and applications.
  • Must possess meticulous documentation skills in addition to a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi task and work under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with employees, physicians, and management.

Environmental Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work in a clinical environment and stand for an extended period of time. Must also be able to work on a computer and/or be on the phone for 3-4 hours at a time.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to focus. Requires visual acuity and normal color perception.
